Taking the Bus between Kinkaku-ji Temple and Ginkaku-ji Temple

From the Kinkakuji-michi bus stop, catch the Kyoto City Bus number 204 and alight at the Ginkakuji-michi bus stop.

From the Ginkakuji-michi bus stop, it is about a 10-minute walk to the temple.

Bus number 204 arrives every 15 minutes, and the ride takes about 20 minutes or so. The bus travels in a loop, so you can travel in either direction.

If you are planning to visit on a weekend day or a holiday, you can also travel by bus number 102.

Bus number 102 arrives every 30 minutes.

Kinkakuji Temple to Ginkakuji Temple by Taxi

If you aren’t on a strict budget, splurging on a taxi will get you from Kinkaku-ji Temple to Ginkaku-ji Temple (or vice versa) in about 9 minutes for about 2,800 to 3,400 yen.
